Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, has once again provided relief to the public by announcing a reduction in petroleum product prices. The price of petrol has been decreased by Rs. 2.07 per liter, while high-speed diesel has seen a reduction of Rs. 3.40 per liter.
Additionally, the price of light diesel has been reduced by Rs. 1.03 per liter, and kerosene oil by Rs. 3.57 per liter. From June 1, 2024, to October 1, 2024, petrol prices have dropped by a total of Rs. 21.23 per liter, and diesel prices by Rs. 18.67 per liter.
The new price of petrol has dropped from Rs. 249.10 per liter to Rs. 247.03 per liter, and diesel's new price has decreased from Rs. 249.69 per liter to Rs. 246.29 per liter. Kerosene oil now costs Rs. 154.90 per liter, down from Rs. 158.47 per liter, while light diesel oil is now priced at Rs. 140.90 per liter, reduced from Rs. 141.93 per liter.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the reduction in petroleum product prices to ensure that the benefits are passed on to the public. Since taking office, his government has consistently focused on providing relief to the people.
Under the Prime Minister's directives, petrol prices have been reduced by Rs. 28.57 and diesel prices by Rs. 37.51 in the last two months alone. The new prices will be effective from midnight, October 1, 2024.
