Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, held a significant press conference today addressing the long-standing Pulwama attack narrative and India’s misinformation campaign against Pakistan.

During the press briefing, DG ISPR stated that new international evidence and whistleblower reports have once again confirmed that India used the Pulwama incident as a political tool. He emphasized that the attack, which took place in February 2019 and claimed the lives of 40 Indian paramilitary personnel, was wrongly blamed on Pakistan without any credible proof, leading to regional instability.

> “Pakistan was falsely accused in a highly coordinated disinformation campaign. The world must recognize that such reckless actions risk the peace and security of South Asia,” DG ISPR asserted.

He reiterated that Pakistan has always maintained a stance of peaceful coexistence, but it will not compromise on its national sovereignty and integrity. The DG ISPR also referenced how international platforms like EU DisinfoLab and independent media investigations have repeatedly exposed India’s attempts to malign Pakistan through fake news, fabricated dossiers, and orchestrated media trials.

> “We urge the international community to take notice of how fabricated events were used to justify aggression against Pakistan, including the Balakot airstrikes,” he added.

Major General Ahmed Sharif further called on the United Nations, international watchdogs, and media organizations to ensure India is held accountable for its actions, particularly the manipulation of security narratives for electoral gains.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s continued efforts in counterterrorism, stating:

> “While we continue to eliminate terrorism within our borders, our neighbours must stop exporting lies and misinformation across borders.”

The press conference concluded with a strong message: truth cannot be buried. Pakistan will continue to defend its narrative through facts, transparency, and global cooperation.
