ISLAMABAD – In a critical joint press conference held in Islamabad today, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar alongside DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry firmly rejected India’s allegations concerning the Pahalgam attack and warned of a strong response to any aggression against Pakistan.
DG ISPR Exposes Flaws in Indian Narrative
DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif categorically stated that India has provided “not a shred of evidence” linking Pakistan to the April 27 Pahalgam incident. He emphasized that the attack location is nearly 230 kilometers away from the Line of Control, making infiltration claims implausible.
He questioned how an FIR was filed within just 10 minutes of the attack, while the nearest police station is at least a 30-minute drive away—labeling the swift legal reaction as “highly suspicious” and politically motivated.
Ishaq Dar Slams Indian Provocation, Mentions Pakistan’s Heavy Toll in War on Terror
Foreign Minister Dar reminded the world that Pakistan has suffered more than 80,000 casualties and over $500 billion in economic losses in its fight against terrorism. He reiterated that Pakistan condemns all forms of terrorism and refuses to accept scapegoating based on regional politics.
Sindh Taas Treaty Threat: A Red Line for Pakistan
Dar labeled India’s threat to revoke or suspend the Indus Waters Treaty as a "war-like act". He confirmed that Pakistan's National Security Committee has declared any move to restrict water flow as a direct violation of international law and Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Call for Peace, But With Firm Resolve
Concluding the briefing, Dar clarified Pakistan’s consistent stance on peace and dialogue. However, he warned, "If India opts for misadventure, Pakistan will respond decisively and without hesitation."
