In a sharp reaction to the blocking of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s X (formerly Twitter) account in India, PPP Vice President and Senator Sherry Rehman has strongly condemned the move, calling it a desperate attempt to suppress the truth about the Pahalgam incident.
“India hastily blamed Pakistan for the Pahalgam attack, but now, with the truth emerging, the Modi government is visibly rattled,” said Sherry Rehman in a statement on Monday. “Recent actions by India in light of the Pahalgam case are strengthening Pakistan’s narrative,” she added.
The senior PPP leader criticized the Indian government’s censorship tactics, stating, “Modi Sarkar, hear this clearly—truth cannot be hidden by silencing voices. Bilawal Bhutto is the voice of the people of Pakistan. Blocking his account only exposes India's falsehoods.”
Sherry Rehman further said that India has run out of options for face-saving. “Instead of opting for censorship, India should present evidence. Attempts to silence critical voices are not just troubling for Pakistan, but are causing global concern,” she warned.
She concluded by stating that suppressing free speech will not cover up the facts and urged the international community to take notice of India’s increasing censorship and intolerance towards dissenting views.
