NAB issues call-up letters only on official NAB letterhead and does not use phone calls, SMS, or WhatsApp messages for any correspondence. The public is advised not to fall for the fraud of such individuals.

A NAB statement said that some elements, posing as NAB senior officials, have been harassing the public through phone calls, SMS, WhatsApp messages, fake letters, and other tactics, and have been attempting to extort money or obtain illegal concessions from government and business individuals. NAB has no direct or indirect connection with these tactics.

The statement further emphasized that if anyone claims to be a NAB official and coerces someone into illegal activities or attempts to blackmail for money, such complaints or suspicious calls should be reported immediately to the provided contact numbers or email addresses. Legal action is ongoing against these individuals, and several fraudsters have already been arrested.
